Community Outreach

One of the cornerstones of a Trinity education is outreach to those less fortunate. Trinity demonstrates its commitment to the needy through our support of a wide range of programs aimed at helping not only area residents, but those in need globally. Students, families and faculty at Trinity join together to fulfill a wide array of charitable initiatives ranging from taking up collections for natural disaster victims and missions in Africa to delivering much needed supplies to the local Elkridge Food Pantry.

Trinity is a founding member of FISH of Howard County, a 24 hour volunteer service for the needy. On a year-round basis the Trinity Community reaches out to families in need and local charities such as Parents and Children Together (PACT) and the Elkridge Food Pantry. We take care to place special emphasis on charities such as these during the holiday season.

An annual outreach effort specific to Trinity's Middle School students is the Adopted Grandparent program. Each student in 6th grade is assigned a resident of a local nursing home as their adopted grandparents. The students host an afternoon tea, visit their adopted grandparents, and send them handmade cards throughout the year.

Trinity remains sensitive to current needs and engages students in responding to these needs whenever possible. The development of leadership among the students is a primary goal at the school. Students' God-given gifts are cultivated so they become responsible leaders motivated by a strong faith and animated by a spirit of service.

Some examples of student outreach projects are:

  • The sale of handmade bracelets to raise money for Alzheimer's disease
  • Donation of hair to Locks of Love
  • Fundraising for tornado and earthquake victims
  • Fundraising for the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation
  • Sponsoring Alex's Lemonade Stand in our cafeteria to raise money for cancer research
  • Participating in the Math-a-Thon for St. Jude's Children's Hospital
  • Holiday collections for troops overseas
