Inclement Weather Policy

Trinity School's Inclement Weather Policy
  1. TRINITY SCHOOL FOLLOWS HOWARD COUNTY schools' closings/delayed openings/early dismissal.
    • 1 Hour Delay: Grades K-8 begin at 9:20 a.m.Pre-School arrive at 10:00 a.m.
    • 2 Hour Delay: Grades K-8 begin at 10:20 a.m.Pre-School arrive at 11:00 a.m. WEDNESDAY ONLY - Trinity School is closed for all grades and TED.
    • Trinity's official Radio Stations for emergency announcements are WBAL (1090 on your AM dial) and WTOP (103.5 FM and 820 AM).
    • Trinity's official TV stations for emergency announcements are WBAL-TV-11 and WJZ-TV-13 (First Warning Weather Program).
  2. When Howard County is already closed because of a scheduled school holiday, Trinity will be announced separately.
  3. When school is to close or is dismissed early because of emergencies or inclement weather, please listen to local radio stations for announcements. PLEASE DO NOT CALL THE OFFICE AS WE ARE ALSO LISTENING TO THE RADIO FOR SUCH AN ANNOUNCEMENT. Early closings will also be posted on the school Web site and sent to you via e-mail.
  4. When weather is severe, please stay tuned for approximately 45 minutes in the event that Trinity makes a special announcement.
  5. ON WEDNESDAYS, TRINITY SCHOOL WILL BE IN SESSION IF HOWARD COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS OPEN 1 HOUR LATE.
  6. ON WEDNESDAYS, IF HOWARD COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS OPEN 2 HOURS LATE, TRINITY SCHOOL WILL NOT HOLD CLASSES.
  7. If the power is out at Trinity, the phones do not work. In that event the Main Fax: 410-744-1225 and the Business Fax: 410-744-3617 will be converted to land-line phone use.

Trinity Extended Day Policy

  1. If school is closed due to emergency or weather conditions, TED is also closed.
  2. Delayed Openings:
    • If school opens 1 hour late, TED opens at 8:00 AM.
    • If school opens 2 hours late, TED opens at 9:00AM.
    • If Howard County schools open 2 hours late on Wednesday and Trinity School is closed, TED is also closed.
  3. If school is in session and dismisses early due to weather, etc., TED does not open for after school care.

Lunch Procedures

If school opens 1 or 2 hours late, Lunchbox and Scholarship Lunches WILL be served.
