Physical Education

The Trinity School campus provides students with two full outdoor basketball courts, and two full-size sports fields and a large, well-tended and modernly equipped playground that includes a rock climbing wall, tetherball, and a basketball chute. For indoor recreation, the school has a spacious gymnasium.

Trinity's physical education program also offers students all of the equipment needed to play flag football, soccer, basketball, floor hockey, baseball, and many other sports. Besides the regular physical education classes, an intramural program is held every Wednesday afternoon for students in Grades 3 through 8 and an afternoon sports program is scheduled on Tuesday afternoons for middle school students. Trinity students enjoy a comprehensive team basketball program from the first grade basketball clinic to the competitive and enthusiastic Trinity Tiger basketball teams for boys and girls from second to eighth grades. The Trinity Athletic Committee and dedicated parent volunteers assist yearly with the basketball program.

Trinity has a Cross Country team for grades 5 through 8 starting in September and ending in mid-October. There is one practice meet and four regular meets on Saturday mornings with other area Catholic Schools participating. The fifth and sixth grade team runs a 1.5 mile course and the 7th and 8th grade team runs a 2.0 mile course. Both courses are laid out at Trinity School, and unless notified, all meets will be held at Trinity.

Trinity has a spring track and field program for middle school grades 5 through 8 starting in March and ending in May. There are five track meets which are scheduled on Saturday mornings with other area Catholic schools. A 200 meter track is laid out on the lower field behind the primary school. Most track meets are held at Trinity. Area Catholic high schools have offered their tracks for a meet. Both the cross country and track meets are coached by Trinity faculty members with parent volunteers at meets.
