Weekly Theme Descriptions

Week #1 - No Middle School Camp This Week

Week #2 Emergency Vet -
A camper’s ticket to the world of Veterinarians. Campers will receive their own medical kit and will learn how to do basic vet procedures such as: taking blood, animal CPR and dissection of a sheep heart!  We will meet and learn from a practicing Veterinarian.

Week #3 Experiments & Explosions - Our young Scientists will be creating their own polymers and exploring chemical reactions.  Create your own slime, experiment with diaper science, dry ice, color-changing worms, egg geodes and every scientist’s favorite – EXPLOSIONS!   Club SciKidz on campus this week.

Week #4 Holiday Week - During this week of camp we will have a camp wide birthday celebration, 4th of July parade, Halloween dress up and games, make Valentines, Irish limericks for St. Patrick’s Day and “create” our own holiday!

Week #5 Middle School Art Studio - Trinity School Art Teacher, Ms. Brooke Leahy, will dedicate this week working with our MS campers in the Art Studio. This workshop will explore many different art forms and activities.  Check with our Director for more specifics.

Week #6 Face Off Special Effects – Campers will learn techniques that professional makeup artists use to create bruises, lacerations, blood and puncture wounds. They will also learn how to create special effects in movies by creating their own stories and incorporating these effects into stop motion animation. Club SciKidz on campus this week.

Week #7 Young Chef’s - Join us as we transform our kitchen into a STEAM Tinker lab where recipes are infused with delicious ingredients and fun educational concepts!  Activities include: Edible Erupting Volcano Cakes, Circuit Pretzel Dough, Edible paint and cookie chemistry.  Club SciKidz on campus this week.

Week #8 Crime Scene Detectives - Club SciKidz will visit with a portable lab teaching our campers how to extract their own DNA, learn about fingerprinting, bone measurement and analysis, identify gene movement using electrophoresis, and discover how to use Entomology to solve crimes.  This workshop will feature real experiments used in crime labs today.

Week #9 Trinity Olympics - During our last week of camp, all groups participate in a week long field days.  Each group will create a country and describe what life in their country would be like.  They will also compete relay races, penny toss at the pool, tug of war, balloon toss, cheer contest, and many more.  We will wrap up the week with a parade of our country flags and block party featuring game stations, a DJ and dancing.

Actual activities will be modified to be age appropriate for each grade level
