Ms. Mimi Rafferty has been Trinity School's art instructor since 2002. Ms. Rafferty possesses a Master of Fine Arts degree specializing in ceramic sculpture. Her experience and dedication are invaluable in encouraging our students to explore, express, and envision. We are fortunate to have such a resource for our students.

Trinity School Art Program The Art program is designed to develop in students an aesthetic and perceptual awareness. Students gain a basic understanding and appreciation of art history by focusing each year on a major art movement. In recent school years the students have studied the art of Ancient Greece and Rome, Ancient Egypt and the Renaissance. Art theory (the elements and principles of art) is taught through the presentation of selected artworks from the years art history theme. The art concept being taught, such as line or color, sets the foundation for the students' work. Students acquire the skills necessary for art production by using a variety of tools and media including drawing, painting, sculpture, hand built pottery and crafts. The art studio, newly renovated in 2002, is well-designed with generous space and ample storage, has easel top desks and is brightly lit. The studio provides our students with an inspirational setting in which to produce art work. Field trips to major museums bring to life what is taught in the classroom. Periodically Trinity students' art work is displayed at local libraries. The Spring Art Show serves as the grand finale of the year's work. The art program strives to inspire in students a love for visual expression in their own work and in works throughout art history.

The art department has joined with the music department to combine our two annual events, the Spring Art Show and the Spring Concert, into an expanded Night of the Arts.
