Trinity Extended Day Program (Club TED)

Staff

TED is run by a full time director, part time assistant director and multiple group leaders. Our group leaders receive 12 hours of Maryland State Core Classes and our entire TED staff is CPR/First Aid Certified.

TED offers a counselor-to-child ratio that is much lower than the state required 15 children to 1 leader. Our staff consists of caring individuals with energy and enthusiasm. They range in age from college students to senior citizens. When you have your child at TED, you have them in capable, safe and patient hands.

Trinity Extended Day (TED) is a licensed after-school program offering a nurturing and fun-filled environment. Our program includes a balance of structured activities, free play, and homework time. Sports, games, and arts & crafts are part of our daily activities. We also enjoy holiday parties, such as the pumpkin patch party at Halloween, Mardi Gras, the Easter Egg Hunt, and pizza parties. Special activities include dance parties, educational presentations, monthly movies, nature walks, bird watching, and a specialized art program that includes origami and modern art. Older students attending TED are provided a forum exclusively for study and homework.

We have several theme weeks throughout the year. These include a fantasy trip to the islands in mid-winter during Luau Week, Insect Week when we all go a little bit "buggy" and Cinco de Mayo week in May. Other special events include the "Pot O Gold" treasure hunt during St. Patrick's week and the annual TED TOG (Tournament of Games).

Students may participate in TED FIT sports, Drama Club, Recorder Club, baking and knitting. Through outreach projects to the Grassroots homeless shelter, the troops, and local retirement communities students can earn service points. Healthy snacks are provided daily.

Facilities & Hours

TED is located on the entire Trinity campus. There is a homework center as well as game room and arts & crafts center. Children also make use of the gym, cafeteria, playground, and school grounds.

Hours: Monday through Friday 7:00 am to 6:00 pm on school days and some holidays. A flexible schedule is available. Closed on snow days.

Drop-Ins

TED will accept Drop-Ins ONLY for students enrolled in Trinity Extended Day with at least 24 hours notice. All students attending Extended Day must complete the Extended Day Enrollment form which provides emergency contact information. Parents will only be billed for days that the child attends.

PLEASE NOTE: A note or email must ALSO be sent directly to TED@trinityschoolmd.org indicating the change in dismissal for any day the drop-in option is used.

New for 2011: Parents may enroll in Extended Day for one to five days a week in before and after sessions (maximum of 2 weeks 10 days). The fees are as follows:

5 days until 6:00 p.m. $90.00
5 days until 4:45 p.m. $70.00

The following days are not included in the Weekly TED Care program: September 6th, 7th, Feb 1st, April 4th, May 9th, 16th and June 6th and 8th.
