“Draw great advantage from all trials.  Nothing causes trees to be more strongly rooted than great winds.”

-St. Julie Billiart

On Monday, November 23rd, the Trinity School community in Ellicott City, MD came together virtually to celebrate their many blessings - students, families, faculty, staff, their beautiful campus and their faith.  In addition, the community gave thanks for the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur who have given Trinity firm roots and many opportunities to reach towards heaven.

Mrs. Meg Ignacio, Board Chair, and Sr. Regina Pellegrini, SNDdN and Board Member, joined Ms. Marguerite Conley, Principal, Mrs. Barb Law, PreSchool Director, Mrs. Margie Martinez, Primary School Head, and Mr. Paul Sloyer, Middle School Head, in prayer and thanksgiving for the school and the legacy of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur.  During the prayer service, one of the 100+ year old oak trees was dedicated to honor the charism and mission of the Sisters that have been alive and impactful for 79 years at Trinity School.

Through their faith and trust in the Good God, these amazing women have touched the lives of so many.  Their ministry and mission of proclaiming God’s goodness in faith and action, educating for life so that students may reach their God-given potential, building community and service to others, and embracing diversity are relevant today more than ever.  The many Sisters that began their religious life here at the Ilchester campus, showed courage and strength through their action, in transforming differences and inequities of their time through the ministry of education.  Our Trinity Family embraces these values and lives them every day.

This campus is alive with the spirit of St. Julie and the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur.  The mighty oak tree symbolizes their strength, courage, resilience, and protection that have blessed this campus for many years.
