Head of School Welcome

“Let us always go on sowing the good seed…”
-St. Julie Billiart, Foundress Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur

Welcome to Trinity School’s 82nd year of sowing the seeds of God's goodness and a love of learning.  At the beginning of each new school year, the Board of Trustees and School reaffirm our long-standing affiliation with the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur.  We are privileged and honored to preserve their legacy of providing academic excellence, spiritual growth, responsible leadership, and service in an environment supported by the Notre Dame Hallmarks:

#1 We proclaim by our lives even more than by our words that God is good.

#2 We honor the dignity and sacredness of each person.

#3 We educate for and act on behalf of justice and peace in the world.

#4 We commit ourselves to community service.

#5 We embrace the gift of diversity.

#6 We create community among those with whom we work and with those we serve.

#7 We develop holistic learning communities which educate for life.

These Hallmarks distinguish Trinity from other independent, Catholic schools in Maryland. The faculty, staff, and administration, in partnership with our parents, are empowered to provide an exceptional educational experience. This year as we continue to create community among those with whom we work and with those we serve, we will also commit ourselves to authentic community serviceWe are looking forward to community rich activities, events, and service projects that will enhance the Trinity experience for all.

It is not just continuing the work of the Sisters that frames this school year.  We, the entire Trinity School community, are also responsible for planning for the sustainable and vibrant future of the school.  The Board of Trustees has engaged Dr. Brooke Carroll to facilitate and guide our work on the next strategic plan.  A former school head with a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology, Dr. Carroll is a consultant and coach for small independent schools.  She has served on seven boards and was trained by BoardSource® and Standards for Excellence Institute®.  She is the author of Governing the Small School: Strategies for Board.

This is an exciting time in the history of Trinity as we affirm our deep roots and plan for our vibrant future.  The Board and school administration will begin this work on Saturday, September 16th and host opportunities for parents, faculty/staff, administration and alumni to provide input through focus groups and surveys.  We look forward to celebrating our strategic goals and action plan in May.

As always, I look forward to the opportunities that lie ahead and continue to draw inspiration and strength from the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur.

Peace –

Ms. K. Marguerite Conley
