The Maryland Association for Environmental and Outdoor Education (MAEOE) is pleased to announce that Trinity School is recognized as a Recertified 2023 Maryland Green School. Maryland Green Schools are part of a national and international community of sustainable green schools. Our students are becoming better stewards of our Earth’s resources and developing a better understanding of their own local environment.
Over the past four years, Trinity School has demonstrated and documented a continuous effort to integrate sustainable environmental management practices, environmental education curriculum, professional development opportunities, and community engagement into our daily operations. This award signifies that our school has made a commitment to developing stewards of the earth and reducing the environmental impact of our school.
To maintain this Green School status, we will strive to meet the objectives of having both student and teacher led initiatives. Teachers and students will use the campus for outdoor learning like reading, writing, playing, and enjoying a snack. Teachers will include environmental lessons in their grade-level activities and attend professional development opportunities about environmental issues. Students will continue with our goals of solid waste management, water conservation, and creating a healthy school environment. And each April we will celebrate Earth Day with projects that beautify our campus and celebrate our stewardship.
